Yes, anything which degrades the health of a normal person is called poison. If poison is used, then people that eat fruits will have to die, but nothing happens like that then, How would you claim???
We can call it slow poison, that we eat through fruits , after intake of some measured quantity It shows its adverse effects.

Most of us are not really aware about this.
But, now the question must arise in your mind that ......
Why we are now focusing on ripening of fruits???
It will be shocking, but ripening of fruits carry poisonous material.
Ohhh.... Does really poison is used forn ripening of fruits???

It is used by simple method, according Mysure kaindriye Khad – Anusandhan, for the use of this poison, simply, water is needed, which is warm at 50 degree centigrade and they soak the fruits of a small period of time, approx, 5 minutes. In this process they use Ethephon.
What is calcium carbide ??
It is a chemical, It is a gas for welding actually. Acetylene is produced from it when comes into contact with moisture.
It is important to note that for artificial ripening fruits are packed in paper packets. Most of us are attracted towards those fruits due to their packaging style.Beacuse it contains traces of arsenic, Phosphorous hydride.
What are fruits which have high risk of artifical ripening???
Fruits like Banana, mangoes, apples, plums, muskmelon
What are the health consequences by these poisonous chemicals???
Cancer can be induced by Calcium carbide because it contains traces of arsenic, phosphorous hydride. Stomach upset , because Calcium carbide is alkaline substance is irritant that erodes the mucosal tissues in the stomach.
Acetylene  can induce burning of eyes, skin, ulcers on skin, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath. On higher exposure it will lead to fluids in the lungs and Hypoxia ( Low oxygen reaching for the blood and tissues)also.
If these chemicals are so poisonous then what will be the trick to avoid them???
1.     The friuts having uniform color over the surface are artificially ripen
2.     The fruits that are packed in paer packets
3.     The fruits having smell like garlic from core
4.     The fruits having bad taste like cow dung
Is there any possibility to avoid them???
1.     Wash fruits under running water for minimum 10 -15 minutes
2.     Peal out fruits while eating
3.     If you found bad taste while eating then avoid eating
4.     Cut your fruits before eating , avoid directly bitting the whole fruit

In the last we say that is better to avoid these harmful instead of taking health risks, or you should follow for fruits and vegetables for you and child.
